About the Role:
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Principal Resilience Engineer to provide technical leadership on building and community-scale resilience. The role involves assessing how buildings, sites, infrastructure, and local conditions contribute to damage, then developing prioritized mitigation recommendations and practical implementation guidance. The engineer will work with modeling, analytics, underwriting, and risk consulting teams to evaluate and validate potential risk reductions, establish consistent assessment and quality standards, and communicate findings to community partners and senior leaders. The position also includes mentoring colleagues and strengthening resilience practices through project insights. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, have at least 10 years of related experience, and maintain an active Professional Engineer license in a U.S. jurisdiction. Demonstrated expertise in at least one natural hazard—such as wildfire, flooding, wind, or severe storms—and deep knowledge of building design, construction, retrofits, and failure mechanisms are required. Applicants should be able to develop practical solutions beyond minimum code requirements and communicate effectively across disciplines. An advanced degree, familiarity with catastrophe modeling or property insurance, and experience working with communities or public infrastructure stakeholders are preferred. Hiring Manager Title
