We are seeking an HRIS Workday Tech Specialist to support a growing HR systems environment across the U.S. and Canada. This role will provide hands-on support for Workday and related HR applications, with a particular focus on Workday Compensation, Payroll, and Time Tracking. The specialist will also support Varicent, a commission-calculation platform. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR technology professional who combines systems support, data analysis, and strong business partnership skills.

Contract-to-hire (full-time conversion within 3 months)**Rate: $45-55/hr*Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship or visa restrictions.*Key Responsibilities Provide L2 operational support for Workday, including HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, security, data integrity, issue resolution, and user support. Support North America-specific Workday processes and integrations with SAP and other enterprise systems. Help manage tickets, investigate system issues, communicate with users, and escalate global configuration matters to the L3 HRIS team when appropriate. Support the Varicent commission platform, including data review, rule-based calculations, troubleshooting, testing, and reporting. Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, HR Operations, Information Security, Analytics, and global HRIS teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Assist with testing system updates, enhancements, integrations, and new functionality across HR systems. Review inbound and outbound data feeds, validate data quality, and support resolution of integration-related issues. Maintain technical and user documentation, training materials, and process communications. Contribute to HR technology projects, continuous-improvement initiatives, and expansion of the commission platform into additional countries. Translate business requirements—particularly around compensation and commissions—into structured system and data solutions. Qualifications2–5 years of experience supporting HR technology (System Analyst), HRIS, payroll systems, or related enterprise applications. Hands-on Workday experience is strongly preferred, especially with HCM and Compensation; Time Tracking experience is highly desirable. Experience supporting a meaningful portion of the Workday ecosystem; deep expertise in every module is not required. Basic SQL skills, including the ability to review data, work with tables, and troubleshoot data-related issues. Understanding of system integrations, including how data moves between HR, payroll, and other enterprise platforms. Comfort working with rule-based processes, data structures, calculations, and operational workflows. Knowledge of compensation, commissions, retail incentives, or sales-performance management tools is a plus. Experience with Varicent Cognos ICM, Anaplan, Xactly, or similar commission platforms is a plus, but not required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requests, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
