This part-time contract opportunity allows you to focus your expertise, providing personalized, life-changing instruction in person to a young learner. With a set schedule just 30 minutes, twice each week youll play a critical role in supporting a students independence and confidence while collaborating with a welcoming educational team. What Youll Do: Deliver individualized orientation and mobility training on-site to one middle school student Tailor lessons to meet the students unique needs and developmental stage Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to ensure consistent progress Maintain documentation for student sessions and growth milestones Offer recommendations for adaptive equipment and approaches to foster independence Support a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment Who Were Looking For: Current and valid COMS (Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist) license in Texas Previous experience working as an OMS, preferably in a school setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration Ability to independently develop and implement mobility plans Dedication to helping students achieve both small and large victories This rewarding position offers a stable weekday schedule with roughly one hour per week, providing you the flexibility to balance work and personal commitments.
