- Job Description 1. Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator
- Welding + blueprint reading + fitting + fabrication.
- We are looking for experienced structural steel workers who have experience with: Structural steel weldingMIG / FCAW / stick welding
- Welding beams, columns, plates, angles, etc.1/8" 7024 welding rod experience is a plus Reading structural steel blueprints
- Read architectural and structural drawingsUnderstand dimensions, elevations and details
- Read shop drawings and erection drawingsUnderstand beam/column locations and connections Steel fabrication
- Measuring and laying out steel
- Cutting and fitting steel
- Drilling holes
- Fitting beams, columns, plates, angles and tubing
- Using fabrication tools and equipment Crane operationExperience operating overhead cranes
- Experience with construction/site cranes is a plus
- Safely rigging and moving structural steel
- Knowledge of proper lifting procedures Bobcat operationExperience operating a Bobcat/skid steer
- Moving steel and materials around the jobsite
- Loading/unloading materials Hi-Lo / Forklift operationExperience operating a Hi-Lo/forklift
- Loading and unloading steel
- Moving steel safely around the shop and jobsite Structural steel erection
- Setting beams and columns
- Bolting connections
- Aligning steel
- Working from erection drawings
- Experience working at heights Rigging
- Chains, slings and shackles
- Properly rigging beams and columns
- Signaling crane operators
