Trucking Coordinator

Job Description: POSITION SUMMARYThe Trucking Department Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the W.D. Matthews Trucking Department, including the receipt and scheduling of transportation requests, customer communication, route and schedule optimization, trucking revenue administration, and completion of required transportation documentation. The Trucking Department Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination for all company trucking requests. The position receives transportation requests from customers and W.D. Matthews departments, reviews each request for completeness, establishes scheduling priorities, assigns work to available trucking resources, and continually fine-tunes the schedule to maximize equipment utilization, driver productivity, customer service, and departmental revenue. This position is the primary administrative and customer contact for trucking activity and works closely with Truck Drivers, Sales, Service, Parts, Rental, branch personnel, customers, and outside transportation providers. The Trucking Department Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that trucking activity is properly documented, priced, communicated, and prepared for billing. The position monitors trucking revenue and open transportation activity and works with appropriate departments to ensure that completed transportation services are invoiced accurately and promptly. The Trucking Department Coordinator reports directly to the General Parts and Service Manager and works out of W.D. Matthews headquarters in Auburn, Maine. This position requires strong organizational ability, attention to detail, customer service skills, sound operational judgment, and the ability to manage a continuously changing schedule in a fast-paced environment. \nCompany DescriptionW.D.
