Location:
Remote / Field-Based – Western United States Mackinnon Bruce International is partnering with a growing US-based manufacturer of highly engineered industrial equipment to appoint a Regional Sales Manager responsible for developing and growing its Western US territory. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial sales professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a proven ability to develop territories, win new business and build long-term customer relationships.
The Opportunity:
You will take ownership of a significant Western US territory, managing existing accounts while identifying and developing new commercial opportunities across industrial markets. The business provides engineered fluid handling and filtration solutions used in demanding applications across sectors including chemical processing, petrochemical, power generation, water & wastewater, environmental and industrial manufacturing. You will work closely with customers, distributors, OEMs, engineering firms and manufacturer's representatives, acting as a key commercial and technical point of contact.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a territory business plan to achieve sales and margin objectives. Grow existing customer accounts and identify new business opportunities. Develop relationships with distributors, OEMs, engineering firms, contractors and end users. Identify new applications and markets for engineered fluid handling and filtration solutions. Manage the complete sales cycle from initial enquiry through to order. Develop aftermarket opportunities including replacement, retrofit, upgrade and maintenance projects. Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations and customer training. Represent the business at trade shows, conferences and customer events. Develop and manage distributor and manufacturer's representative relationships. Maintain accurate sales forecasts and opportunity pipelines through CRM.Monitor customer requirements, competitor activity and market trends. Collaborate with engineering, applications and customer service teams to develop technically and commercially appropriate solutions. Territory The role covers the Western United States, including: California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska and Hawaii. The successful candidate should be comfortable with extensive travel throughout the territory.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for an experienced industrial sales professional with:5+ years' experience selling engineered industrial equipment. Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, filtration, fluid handling or similar engineered products. Experience selling into chemical, petrochemical, power generation, water & wastewater, environmental or industrial process markets. A proven track record of territory development, new business generation and account growth. Experience managing distributors, manufacturer's representatives, OEMs and end-user relationships. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand and communicate engineered solutions. Excellent commercial, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills. CRM experience, ideally Salesforce. A proactive, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to work independently. Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
