Teaching Associate | Advanced Practice Provider- Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, UWMC Montlake
Position Description:
This role will provide perioperative support and continuity of care for Head and Neck Cancer with inpatient and clinic responsibilities. Clinically, the applicant will be responsible for providing services independently and collaboratively in the perioperative environment including initial and ongoing assessment and diagnosis and treatment of patient’s medical status .This APP will hold a Teaching Associatefaculty position in the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (ENT). This faculty position has an annual service period of 12-months (July 1 - June 30).The anticipated start date is February 1, 202 7. New graduates are welcome to apply. Although previous ENT experience is preferable, over time candidates will be mentored and provided professional opportunities to gain knowledge and procedural skills. Standards of Practice and Performance Provide complex and problem-focused initial assessment, screening/diagnostic evaluation, management, and follow-up with otolaryngology patients. Participate in the interdisciplinary evaluation, management, and follow-up of patients using appropriate clinical practice guidelines. Evaluate and manage urgent issues. Perform procedures according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice including wound assessment, sino -nasal endoscopy, flexible laryngoscopy and cerum en removal. Collaborate with the Otolaryngology team, PCPs, and other providers to ensure coordination and continuity of care for patients across the continuum of care and over time. Participate as a key member of the interdisciplinary team through the development of collaborative and innovative practices and evaluation of patient care outcomes. Provide other duties as requested, consistent with the APP role. Post -operative visits Provide patient, caregiver and peer education Attend multidisciplinary tumor board and team meetings The base salary range for this position will be: $10,834 - $14,150 per month ($130,008 - $169,800 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant/Associate program. Current and valid state licensure as an ARNP or PA-C or foreign equivalent. Nationally Certified ARNP/PA-C with DEA.Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of patients.
