Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Speech Language Pathologist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: 10/26/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary The organization is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for an inpatient specialty role in the pediatric outpatient setting. This position involves delivering speech therapy treatments to facilitate patient rehabilitation, conducting patient evaluations, and participating in discharge planning within a clinical outpatient pediatric environment.
Job Details Position Description: Implements treatment plans and selects modalities to meet specific established goals. Provides prescribed speech therapy treatment to facilitate the rehabilitation of mentally or physically handicapped patients. Assists in the evaluation of patient progress and recommends discharge planning. Conducts and assists with patient activities and maintains appropriate records. Demonstrates compliance with ethical and legal standards, including the Speech Therapy Practice Act. Provides effective therapy treatments and appropriately delegates patient treatment procedures and modalities. Provides safe and comprehensive discharge planning. Maintains patient care documentation through Health Electronic Documentation (HED). Utilizes all resources to assist with patient flow, including scheduling and printing forms. Provides education and mentoring for student interns as assigned. Participates in special department programs and facilitates interdisciplinary communication. Communicates positively and timely with patients, coworkers, supervisors, and physicians. Maintains equipment and treatment areas. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour days, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Masters degree in Speech Therapy or Speech Language Pathology; licensed by the Speech Therapy Board of the State of California; American Heart Association BLS certification; at least 1 year of speech therapy or healthcare experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Outpatient pediatric work experience. Additional Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, communicate clearly with patients and healthcare professionals, and administer all department modalities and protocols appropriate to the age of patients served. Proficiency in written and verbal communication, patient evaluation, patient flow coordination, and interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
