Database Administrator

Responsibilities: Manage and monitor production Microsoft SQL Server databases. Improve database performance by working with indexes, queries, statistics, and connections. Manage backups, restores, replication, and high availability. Test backup and recovery processes to make sure databases can be restored when needed. Help move databases to AWS, including Amazon RDS for SQL Server and/or Aurora PostgreSQL.Help convert databases, migrate data, test changes, and support production cutovers. Convert T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers to PostgreSQL when needed. Work with PostgreSQL databases, including tuning, replication, and extensions. Help protect sensitive data through encryption, access controls, key management, and auditing. Review database changes and SQL queries from engineering teams. Help engineers build databases that are reliable and perform well. Create scripts and automation for database setup, migrations, maintenance, and monitoring. Support PCI-DSS and SOC 2 compliance requirements. Participate in on-call support and help resolve database issues.
