Position Summary: Eaton Aerospace is seeking a Senior Buyer / Operations Buyer to support procurement operations at its Bethel, CT facility. This role will manage day-to-day purchasing activities for indirect materials, equipment, and services while ensuring production and business operations continue without interruption. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, supplier management, and sourcing, preferably within an aerospace or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities: Manage procurement of indirect materials, equipment, and services, including: MRO materials Facilities services Tooling Professional servicesIT hardware and software Calibration servicesEHS-related products and services Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, develop scopes of work, and establish service-level expectations. Evaluate supplier capabilities and obtain, analyze, and compare competitive quotations. Execute sourcing decisions in alignment with established commodity and procurement strategies. Review purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures. Monitor supplier performance, on-time delivery, and service quality. Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate supplier and material-flow risks. Support contract negotiations, renewals, and procurement documentation. Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing information within ERP systems. Support supplier setup and supplier master-data maintenance. Serve as a primary point of contact for indirect suppliers regarding open invoices and invoice-status questions. Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve purchasing and material-flow issues. Help resolve stock-outs, hardware replenishment issues, missing quality documentation, and vendor return-to-vendor (RTV) issues. Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, reduce costs, and increase procurement efficiency. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 2 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement, or a related function. Experience with purchasing, supplier management, sourcing, or procurement transactions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer-service and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Must meet ITAR U.S. Person requirements for access to ITAR-controlled information and hardware. U.S. Persons include U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), Political Asylees, and Refugees.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous aerospace purchasing/buying experience, preferably within a large corporate or manufacturing environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems and purchasing platforms. Basic understanding of Mil-Specs, engineering drawings, and blueprints. Experience with supplier negotiations and cost analysis. Experience with planning, scheduling, purchasing, or materials management. Knowledge of MRO, tooling, facilities, or manufacturing-related procurement. Experience managing supplier performance and resolving delivery or quality issues.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a hands-on procurement professional who can work closely with internal teams and suppliers to keep operations running smoothly. Strong candidates will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve supply-chain issues before they impact production. Aerospace or manufacturing purchasing experience is highly preferred.
