Surgical Oncology Physician Assistant Job at MEDSTAR HEALTH in Washington

Join MedStar Health’s Surgical Oncology team providing pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing complex cancer surgeries. The role includes outpatient follow-ups and education, inpatient consultations, multidisciplinary care coordination, and accurate EMR documentation in collaboration with surgical oncologists and care teams. Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups for surgical oncology patients. Provide patient education and routine post-discharge care in the outpatient setting. Assist with inpatient consultations and support coordinated patient discharges. Participate in daily patient review rounds and multidisciplinary tumor boards and care huddles. Document care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record. Coordinate with surgeons, referring physicians, inpatient teams, and specialty services to optimize care pathways.
