Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Purchasing Manager role based in Albuquerque, NM. The Senior Purchasing Manager oversees end-to-end procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation of contracts, and management of supplier relationships. This role is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, analyzing spend, and ensuring cost-effective, timely acquisition of goods and services that meet quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing purchase requests, approving orders, coordinating with operations and finance, resolving supplier issues, and monitoring inventory levels and lead times. The Senior Purchasing Manager also leads continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes, mentors team members, and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience leading procurement or purchasing functions, with responsibility for strategy, budgeting, and supplier management. Strong skills in contract negotiation, cost analysis, and vendor performance evaluation. Proficiency with purchasing or ERP systems, and the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights. Solid understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and sourcing best practices. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage stakeholder expectations. Proven leadership capabilities, including mentoring, team development, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, CSCP) are a plus. Experience in a similar senior purchasing or procurement role, preferably within a mid- to large-sized organization. High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive workplace practices.
