Senior Sales Associate

Music & Arts is seeking a Part-Time Senior Sales Associate to support customers in our retail store. In this role, you’ll guide students, parents, and educators in selecting band and orchestra instruments, accessories, and lesson packages. You’ll provide expert product knowledge, process rentals and sales, handle basic POS transactions, and maintain merchandising standards. You’ll collaborate with store and lesson staff, support community and school outreach, and help deliver a friendly, student-focused experience that supports music education and drives store performance. Assist customers with selecting instruments, accessories, and lesson packages Provide knowledgeable recommendations for band and orchestra products Process sales, rentals, returns, and exchanges using POS systems Maintain merchandise displays, stock levels, and store cleanliness Support lesson program enrollment and scheduling Collaborate with store team on promotions and community events Educate customers on financing, rental terms, and protection plans Handle customer issues and questions with a service-focused attitude Support outreach to local schools and music educators Meet or exceed individual and store sales goals Retail sales Customer service Point-of-sale (POS) systems Cash handling Product knowledge – musical instruments Merchandising Inventory management basics Communication skills Upselling and cross-selling Basic computer skills Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally in music or specialty retail Basic knowledge of band and orchestra instruments preferred Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling Evening and weekend availability
