Forklift Mechanic

Responsibilities: Repair material handling equipment (includes forklifts, scissor lifts, tuggers, floor scrubbers, dock levelers, and dock plates)Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine problems Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections Use diagnostic tools to test lift or equipment components Complete work orders accurately and maintain repair records Perform quality inspections prior to returning equipment to the customer Maintain a clean and safe work environment Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures. Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status with customers and service advisors Respond to field service calls when required

Qualifications: Previous experience as a mechanic At least 1 year of forklift repair experience preferred Diesel engine repair experience is a bonus Experience working on electric, LP gas, gasoline, and diesel-powered forklifts is a plus Knowledge of shop equipment and diagnostic tools Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics Basic computer skills for completing work orders and researching parts Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to prioritize multiple repairs while meeting deadlines Deadline and detail-oriented Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Welding and fabrication experience is a plusOEM certifications (Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Raymond, etc.) are a plus but not required

Schedule: Full-time Monday through Friday Occasional overtime and on-call work may be required
