Remote Volunteer Software Engineer iLevelUP

Responsibilities: Translate approved user stories and technical designs into small, reviewable changes Develop maintainable application code using project standards and documented interfaces Write unit, integration, component, or end-to-end tests appropriate to each change Review code, fix defects, improve diagnostics, and update technical documentation Collaborate with product, UX, accessibility, API, data, quality, security, and Dev Ops volunteers Apply privacy by design, least privilege, input validation, secure secret handling, and safe error behavior Use synthetic or approved nonproduction data and environments Follow approved repositories, branches, reviews, releases, monitoring, and rollback procedures Never deploy to production, access participant data, or expand permissions without authorization

Qualifications: Experience developing production web, mobile, API, or cloud software Strong programming, debugging, testing, Git, APIs, databases, and software-design fundamentals Familiarity with accessibility, privacy, application security, CI/CD, and remote collaboration Clear documentation and reliable follow-through At least 18 years old and willing to complete screening and confidentiality requirements This is a remote, recurring or project-based role.
