Role Description:
The Finance Manager at Northwest Ventures is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing key financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. On a day-to-day basis, this role will prepare and review financial statements, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, and analyze variances against targets. The Finance Manager will monitor cash flow, support investment evaluations, and provide insights to leadership on financial performance and risk. This role will also help maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and regulations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives. The position requires proactive communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a remote setting.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong skills in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Candidates should possess skills in financial reporting and accounting, including preparation and review of financial statements and familiarity with GAAP or other relevant standards. Candidates should possess skills in cash flow management, investment analysis, and financial modeling to support decision-making. Candidates should possess skills in risk assessment, internal controls, and compliance with financial policies and regulations. Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and Excel or other financial software skills. Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA are a plus. Experience in investment, venture capital, private equity, or corporate finance environments is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time capacity, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
