Cypress Swim Asst Supervisor

Hours: Part-time, non-exempt. Hours may vary between Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm and Saturday to Sunday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Time frame: Seasonal during summer months from March to November (subject to change). Wage: $19.00 per hour. Swim assistant supervisors must be at least 18 years or older. Qualified applicants may have customer service or member communication experience. The Anaheim Family YMCA prefers applicants who have experience with typical business software and office equipment. It is recommended that swim assistant supervisors have 1-3 years of experience teaching swimming or lifeguarding. Swim assistant supervisors must maintain a high level of physical and mental readiness and must demonstrate water safety skills in accordance with YMCA standards at all times. All potential employees must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug and alcohol testing, health screening, and tuberculosis test.

Certifications: All swim assistant supervisors must have or obtain a lifeguarding certification with CPR/AED training. Lifeguard certification classes are available at the Anaheim Family YMCA. It is recommended for swim assistant supervisors instructors to obtain a YMCA Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. Employees must be CPR/first aid certified within the first 30 days of employment and kept current for condition of continued employment. The Anaheim Family YMCA periodically provides CPR/first aid training to staff who need certification.
