Geotechnical Construction Inspector

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform geotechnical and construction inspections on industrial, commercial, and highway projects. Conduct field testing, including soil sampling, moisture-density testing, and geotechnical investigations. Ensure construction activities comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to identify and resolve construction-related issues. Prepare inspection reports, field documentation, photographs, and construction drawing markups. Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical investigation results. Operate and troubleshoot field testing equipment, including nuclear density gauges and sampling tools. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE8+ years of industrial, commercial, and/or highway construction inspection experience. Experience with soil compaction testing, moisture-density testing, and field sampling. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction specifications. Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with project teams. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or related field preferred, but not required. Moisture-nuclear density DOT training. EIT/PE or NICET Level 2+ preferred, but not required. Experience with AutoCAD, Slide2, or RSLog is a plus.
