Punch Operator We are seeking a responsible Punch Operator to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate a computer-controlled punch machine to produce blanks for additional manufacturing operations or as finished flat parts. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate punch machinery according to production paperwork and specified requirements
  • Check parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gages for accuracy
  • Load appropriate programs into machine controls and run correct parts/quantities
  • Measure parts effectively to ensure conformity to print specifications
  • Evaluate supplied materials to ensure they meet production needs
  • Remove and inspect cut pieces for defects, ensuring edge and surface quality
  • Complete production paperwork, including quality and timekeeping records, In-Process, and Final Audit Reports
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace in compliance with 6S Standards and facility policies
  • Wear required safety equipment and adhere to all Safety Policies
  • Properly fill out tags for part identification and traceability
  • Perform basic setups using prewritten programs
  • Read and interpret blueprints to identify important characteristics
  • Receive on-the-job training from the cell supervisor
  • Understand the Company Quality Policy and Objectives, and their personal impact on achieving these goals
  • Support the Cell Leader in implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Identify and tag suspect products with HOLD tags as part of Nonconforming Material Control
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Safety Requirements: Safety glasses and shoes are required in all manufacturing areas Hearing protection must be worn in posted areas and is optional elsewhere
Qualifications:
  • Experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and improvement initiatives
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
