Role Overview:
We are seeking a Director, National Accounts to own the firm’s relationships with the gatekeepers of wealth distribution: broker-dealer home offices, platform research teams, RIA aggregators, and model portfolio providers. Advisors at major firms can only recommend products their home office has approved, so each approval this role secures unlocks access to thousands of advisors at once. This is a strategic, relationship-driven mandate for a professional who knows the home-office landscape directly: the research analysts, the diligence and approval processes, the committee dynamics, and the practical requirements for placing a fund on recommended lists and model menus. We are looking for someone who has done this work for another fund and can point to the approvals and placements they personally secured. Experience positioning publicly listed funds (ETFs, closed-end funds) with home offices is strongly preferred; candidates who have driven platform approvals for private funds with directly transferable gatekeeper relationships will also be considered. You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and work closely with the CEO and COO.
What You’ll Do:
• Own the platform relationships. Build and manage relationships with home-office research and product teams at wirehouses, independent broker-dealers, and regional firms.• Secure approvals and placements. Manage the approval pipeline end to end: diligence questionnaires, data requests, committee presentations, recommended-list submissions, and model placements.• Negotiate agreements. Structure and manage distribution, servicing, and data agreements with platforms.• Cover the aggregators. Own relationships with RIA aggregators and TAMPs whose menus direct advisor allocations at scale.• Enable the sales team. Coordinate with distribution colleagues so each platform approval is followed by advisor-level engagement.• Report on the pipeline. Maintain reporting on the approval pipeline by firm and stage, placements secured, and flows by platform.
Core Qualifications:
• A verifiable record of platform wins at another fund: approvals, recommended-list additions, and model placements you personally drove.• Distribution experience at a fund is required. 7+ years in national accounts, key accounts, or platform distribution at an asset manager; publicly listed fund experience strongly preferred.• Established, current relationships with home-office research and gatekeeper teams at major broker-dealers and platforms.• Fluency in platform diligence: DDQs, approval criteria, committee dynamics, and servicing economics.• Strong process management: approval cycles run for months and reward disciplined, consistent follow-through.• FINRA Series 7 and 63 (or ability to obtain promptly).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Strategic and patient, with the discipline to keep long approval processes moving between milestones.• Credible in a diligence setting, with the depth to represent a thematic, research-driven strategy to platform research teams.• Genuine conviction in robotics and frontier technology.• High judgment and discretion with sensitive information in a regulated, publicly listed context.• Proficient with modern AI tools to extend research, preparation, and coverage capacity.
