Electrical Safety Engineer

The Role: Support product safety evaluations and testing activities for electrical, electronic, and medical electrical equipment in accordance with applicable national and international standards Perform routine safety testing including leakage current, dielectric strength, temperature, abnormal operation, mechanical hazards, grounding continuity, flammability, and EMC pre-compliance evaluations Assist with product and component assessments against standards such as IEC/UL/EN 60601-1, 60601-1-2, 61010-1, 62368-1, and 60335-1, plus related collateral and particular standards Review technical documentation including schematics, risk management files, bills of materials, insulation diagrams, user manuals, and labeling for compliance with regulatory and certification requirements

What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred)2–5 years' experience in electrical product safety testing, compliance engineering, or laboratory environments Working knowledge of relevant safety standards (e.g. 60601-1, 61010-1, 62368-1, 60335-1) — medical device standards experience a plus Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation: oscilloscopes, hipot testers, leakage current analyzers, multimeters, power analyzers, and environmental chambers We pay up to $1000 for successful referrals so reach out if any of your network is on the lookout at the moment.l.denham@x 4engineering.com
