2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants We are seeking a skilled Transmission Engineer with approximately 5 years of experience in transmission line design and engineering. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding ofunderground (UG) transmission systemsto effectively participate in technical discussions, though they do not need to be a subject matter expert (SME). This role will support internal teams and external contractors, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the design and review of transmission line projects, including overhead and underground systems. Participate in technical discussions related to UG transmission, providing insights and coordination support. Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external contractors to ensure project requirements are met. Review drawings, specifications, and calculations for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Support project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation activities. Provide technical input during feasibility studies, permitting, and construction phases. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience in transmission engineering (overhead and/or underground). Familiarity with underground transmission systems and associated design considerations. Working knowledge of industry standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE, etc.). Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, or similar). Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills: Experience with utility projects and regulatory compliance. Understanding of cable systems, duct banks, and civil interface for UG transmission. Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and apply findings to design. Familiarity with permitting processes and environmental considerations.
