Apply for this role →Regional Property Manager – Conventional Multifamily Cincinnati, OHIf you’re an experienced multifamily leader who enjoys developing Property Managers, but doesn’t want to spend your week driving across an enormous territory, this role offers an unusual combination: meaningful regional leadership with a highly concentrated local portfolio. Uptown Rental Properties is adding a Regional Property Manager as it continues to evolve the leadership structure of its conventional, market-rate portfolio. The portfolio includes a mix of traditional apartment communities and scattered-site properties, with some portfolios collectively spanning numerous individual locations. Despite the breadth of the portfolio, the properties are concentrated within roughly a 20-mile area from Florence, Kentucky to Norwood, Ohio, allowing you to stay connected to your teams without extensive regional travel or overnight stays.
What You’ll Do:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of high-performing Property Managers.
Oversee the operational and financial performance of five conventional multifamily portfolios.
Establish clear expectations and hold Property Managers accountable for key performance indicators and operating standards.
Monitor occupancy, leasing, renewals, collections, expenses, maintenance performance, resident experience, and other critical property metrics.
Review budgets, financial results, variances, and operating trends to identify risks and opportunities.
Help Property Managers strengthen their own leadership skills and develop the employees reporting to them.
Provide guidance on escalated resident, employee, maintenance, and operational issues without becoming the day-to-day Property Manager.
Collaborate closely with shared-resource teams including maintenance, marketing, HR, and other internal partners.
Maintain a regular presence at the properties you support while staying connected to Uptown’s Clifton office.
Bring ideas and experience that help strengthen KPIs, accountability, processes, and overall portfolio performance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in residential multifamily property management, preferably within conventional or market-rate housing.
- Previous experience leading multiple properties, Property Managers, or a comparable regional or area portfolio.
- Experience overseeing multi-site or scattered-site portfolios is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop managers, not simply oversee day-to-day property operations.
- Strong understanding of property-level financials, budgets, operating metrics, and KPIs.
- Experience using data to identify performance issues, establish accountability, and improve results.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across several properties and teams.
- Calm, practical judgment when unexpected operational challenges arise.
- A collaborative leadership style and the confidence to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, including property owners and senior leadership.
- Experience with property management software; Rent Manager experience is helpful but not required.
- Comfort using technology and a willingness to adopt new tools and ways of working.
- CAPS, CAM, or similar industry certifications are a plus but are not required.
