The Energy Quality Assurance Inspector conducts site visits throughout Maryland to evaluate energy efficiency retrofit work in residential buildings and ensure compliance with program guidelines and best practices. This contractual position with the Department of Housing and Community Development's Housing and Building Energy Programs division involves inspecting installations, reviewing energy audits and documentation, and providing technical assistance to network partners. The role supports the State's climate and energy efficiency goals while monitoring project progress and resolving service provider concerns.
Key qualifications: Seven years of experience evaluating risk in loans, government assistance programs, or construction management (or Bachelor's degree with three years experience) Experience using energy diagnostic equipment such as blower door systems, infrared imagers, and combustion analyzers Experience conducting independent inspections of residential building systems and energy efficiency measures Experience reviewing, analyzing, or producing energy modeling data or Manual J calculations Thorough knowledge of building science, energy diagnostic methodologies, and energy conservation measures
