What would you do as a Production Utility As a new Production Utility team member at Barrett Petfood, you can expect an engaging and hands-on role that involves various responsibilities crucial to our production process. Your day-to-day tasks will include machine operation, quality control inspections, and assisting with all areas of production. You'll also work closely with fellow team members to maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to all safety protocols. The position follows a consistent schedule from Monday to Friday, starting at 10:00 PM and wrapping up at 6:30 AM, allowing you to enjoy your mornings while contributing to our mission throughout the night.day to day responsibilities Day-to-day operation of the plant Work with the Plant Production team to ensure product meets specifications. Setup, Operation of, and cleaning of the extruder used for petfood production. Inspection of product to make sure it is meeting customer specifications, density, and size. Operation of dryer and testing of kibble. Operations of the Vertical Cooler, mixing and adding palletants to kibble.troubleshoot equipment to ensure product is within specifications. Clean under and around plant machineryPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment. Climb and descend stairs and ladders safely and routinely, including accessing elevated work areas and equipment. Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling Maintain balance and stability while working on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable. Work in varying environmental conditions, including areas that may be hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or subject to temperature fluctuations.
