Senior Financial Analyst Long Grove, IL | Onsite This is a high-impact finance role with broad visibility across the business. You’ll own product costing and cost analysis while partnering closely with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and leadership to understand profitability, identify trends, and drive better financial decisions. You’ll have a meaningful role in the monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, working capital, and financial planning, with the opportunity to take on special projects and improve processes across the organization. Responsibilites Develop and maintain costing processes from raw materials through manufacturing, ensuring accurate standards and reliable system data. Analyze product costs by family, including raw materials and manufacturing standards, to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Lead periodic cost rolls in SAP, validating data and developing analytical checks to ensure accuracy before and after system updates. Partner with Sales to analyze customer and channel profitability, track margins, and identify meaningful trends. Lead the U.S. entity’s annual budgeting process, partnering with department leaders to develop expense assumptions, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Monitor operating expenses and capital spending against budget, providing insight into variances and areas requiring attention. Support the U.S. monthly close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and financial reporting. Calculate net working capital and maintain key financial metrics used to monitor business performance. Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Sales, Operations, and other departments to analyze data, solve problems, and support business decisions. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, procedures, reporting, and controls. Take ownership of ad hoc analyses and strategic finance projects as the business evolves.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 6-8 years of relevant finance or accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial analysis Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft OfficeSAP experience highly preferred Experience with product costing, standard costing, or manufacturing finance Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is a plusCPA, CMA, or MBA preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect financial data to underlying business drivers Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a cross-functional environment Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information Curious, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to challenge processes and identify better ways of doing things
