Apply for this role →CMC are supporting one of our partners and seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a 6-month contract supporting the design and development of high-speed motor-generator and rotating machinery systems.
Location: LA (CA) - Hybrid schudule
Duration: 6-month contract (extension potential)
Rate:
Dependent on each consultant Core Focus:• Mechanical design of high-speed rotating equipment and turbomachinery systems• 3D CAD design and detailed engineering (Solid Works)• Structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis using FEA• Rotor dynamics support including bearings, seals, and couplings• Design from concept through build, test, and validation support• Manufacturing and assembly support, including troubleshooting hardware issues• Engineering documentation, drawings, and design deliverables
Required Experience:
• BS Mechanical Engineering• High-speed rotating equipment, turbomachinery, compressors, turbines, or motor-generators• Rotor dynamics and mechanical design of rotating systems• Solid Works proficiency• FEA experience (structural required)• Strong GD&T knowledge and hands-on engineering approach
Preferred:
• API 617 exposure• ASME VIII pressure vessel experience• MIL-STD-810 familiarity
