Overview: Salary Range $17.50 - $19.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time DescriptionAre you a compassionate, dependable, and self-motivated individual looking to make a meaningful difference in your community? Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking Residential Support Staff to join our dedicated teams in our 24/7 Residential Programs. In this role, you'll support adults living with severe and persistent mental illness by helping create a safe, welcoming, and recovery-focused home environment where individuals can build independence, build life skills, and thrive.
What You'll Do:
  • Create a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Implement individualized, person-centered support plans
  • Encourage community involvement, recreational activities, and social connections
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisors, clinicians, and fellow team members
  • Transport residents to appointments and community activities using your personal vehicle
  • Our ideal candidate:
  • Has experience working in residential services, behavioral health, or with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
  • Is calm under pressure, organized, and communicates effectively
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting recovery and independence
  • Holds a valid driver's license and has reliable transportation
  • Is flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, overnights, or other assigned shifts
Some schedules include a rotation of asleep overnight shifts, depending on staffing needs and the level of support required at each residential site. All overnight hours receive an additional $2.50 per hour shift differential, providing an opportunity to earn more while supporting our residents. Qualifications: Associate's Degree; or equivalent combination of related education, training and experience such as relevant certificate from college or technical school.
