Apply for this role →Temporary Pre-Tabulation Room Attendant IAs a Temporary Pre-Tabulation Room Attendant I, you will support the election process by physically loading, unloading, and transporting trays of early ballots on wheeled carts throughout the assigned workspace. You will also assist with organizing and storing processed affidavits for retention and audit purposes. This is a temporary position supporting the November General Election with an anticipated start date in October. Maricopa County Elections serves more than 2.5 million registered voters as they exercise their right to make informed decisions regarding the selection of local and national leaders as well as ballot measures. We require experience utilizing a calculator or similar device and a high school diploma or GED. Other requirements include successfully completing a background screening, being eligible to vote in Arizona, and mandatory overtime during all election cycles. We also value one or more years of general office experience, moderate computer use experience, election experience, and customer service experience. Job contributions include transporting ballots on wheeled racks and carts within the room and keeping them properly organized, distributing and collecting trays of early ballots to and from processing tables, delivering processed trays to the Quality Control area, removing processed affidavits from trays reviewed by QC, organizing retention boxes in numerical order, assisting supervisory staff, and ensuring attendance and punctuality. Working conditions require flexibility in work shifts, ability to sit and stand for extended periods, frequent lifting and carrying, and avoiding political discussions during the election. Selection procedure includes submitting online applications, passing a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation, and drug and alcohol testing for safety-sensitive positions.
