Description:
American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring an Oregon Polysomnography license in hand and at least 1 year of experience.
Details Short term acute care hospital setting with 108 staff beds
Night shift schedule, 3x 12 hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Block schedule required with weekend shifts, including Friday nights extending into Saturday mornings
Patient ratio of 2:1
No on-call requirements and no floating between units
Uses Epic charting system
Res Med equipment used for CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, and ASV titration
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience required
BLS and RPSGT certification required
Oregon Polysomnography License required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
Epic charting experience required
Skilled in PSG monitoring, scoring, and staging including arousal, hypopnea, and respiratory events
Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, ASV titration, and mask fitting (full face, nasal mask, nasal pillow)
Experience with adult MSLT, baseline PSG, and home sleep testing
Knowledge of infection control and patient education practices
Additional Information:
Perform sleep studies including PSG, MSLT, and home sleep testing, monitoring cardiac and respiratory parameters such as ECG, EEG, O2 saturation, and end-tidal CO2
Score and stage sleep studies, identifying events such as Cheyne-Stokes respiration, complex sleep apnea, and periodic limb movement
No fee for parking
First-time travelers will be considered for this position
Candidates may be expected to float between sister facilities within the state
Returning former staff must wait at least 3 months and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
