Sanitation Worker

General Description: The City of Jacksonville is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Sanitation Worker to join our team in the Sanitation Division. The Sanitation Worker performs responsible unskilled manual work in the collection of solid refuse, recyclables, appliances, yard and bulky waste; does related work as required. Work is performed under immediate supervision. You'll work on collection routes, handling trash, recycling, yard waste, and bulky items while riding on the back of trucks. Duties include cart delivery and repair, assisting drivers, maintaining clean vehicles, and safely disposing of materials at designated sites. No two days are the same, and teamwork is key. The City offers great training opportunities for career development and advancement through onsite and offsite training with many of our Recycling & Trash Services Workers earning their Commercial Driver's License (CDL) while working, and promote up to an Operator/Driver! The salary posted is the full salary range for this position. The starting salary is expected to be in the range of $31,327.28 - $40,725.47 depending on qualifications.
