Registered Behavior Technician The Registered Behavior Technician works under the direction of the Principal/Assistant Principal, Director of Student Services, BCBA, and/or immediate teacher supervisor to assist with the delivery of services to students with disabilities. This includes both special education and related services as specified in the IEP.
Qualifications: To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
  • Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or learning disabilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Knowledge and training in the implementation of continuous performance of positive reinforcement with students.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to the needs of a changing student population with a variety of challenges and address their social and emotional needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, and the ability to be independent and self-directed within supervised tasks.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance instructional and professional responsibilities.
  • Attend PD offered by the district.
  • Responsibilities & Essential Functions which include but are not limited to:
  • Administer behavior intervention plans as directed by BCBA and classroom teacher
  • Deliver individualized assistance and therapeutic services to students
  • Document and monitor student behavior with accuracy
  • Engage in team planning sessions, trainings, supervision, and student meetings
  • Maintain professionalism and ethical standards
  • Maintain confidentiality
