As an Early Intervention Registered Nurse (RN) you will be responsible for providing home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for developmental delays and their families in both their homes and community settings. Position Responsibilities:
Assist and/or complete initial intakes and provide follow-up referrals and/or interagency service coordination as needed. Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments to determine the developmental needs of the child and the concerns and priorities of the family. The early intervention RN will focus on medical history, nursing assessment, as well as goals and objectives related to health, nutrition, and safety. Participate in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) with families and collaborate with families to identify strengths and resources. Provide services using a coaching model with children and families according to their IFSP. This may include home visits, child groups and parent groups. Monitor developmental milestones and progress with parents/caregivers to inform ongoing need for direct service, consultation and/or assessment. Provide parent/caregiver education on health and safety issues during home visits or parent education groups. Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate. Document all information necessary for the upkeep of client files. Participate in developmental screenings in the community. Attend program functions for clients and the public.
Position Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Massachusetts
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners
- Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development
- Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally informed services
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards
- Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation
