Apply for this role →Excellent and growing financial firm is seeking a VP of Operations. Must have 6 plus years of experience working in financial operations and a strong understanding of fixed income products. Great benefits, perks, bonus and comp. Looking for an individual to join us who can own the trade support and operations process from initial set up through to day to day. Core operations are outsourced, but the successful individual will need to understand and have experience of the trade lifecycle.
Skills required:
- Full understanding of amortizing fixed income products, in particular RMBS, CMBS, Agency and non-Agency products, Whole Loans, Futures and Options, Swaps and Equities ( REITS and ETFs)
- Full understanding of securities trade lifecycle from trade execution to settlement and reconciliations.
- Experience handling large amounts of data and familiarity with databases to help organize such data.
- Experience installing and setting up operations flow, from OMS installation to designing and documenting daily processes in co-ordination with PBs. Administrators, outsourced Operations teams and other critical vendors.
- Understanding of the derivative trade lifecycle including execution and clearing, ISDAs and collateral management.
- Bachelors degree in a finance related subject or relevant experience in the above.
- A minimum of 6 years in the Industry.
The successful candidate will be the type of person who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done. Being a start up Asset Manager, there will need to be a level of flexibility and willingness to go that extra mile and be comfortable managing several balls in the air at the same time. Experience in a start up entity will be incredibly beneficial. For the right candidate there is the chance to move onto the Portfolio Management Team, or to become the Head of Operations.
This role will report directly to the Firm’s Chief Operating Officer.
