Technical Designer – Casual Sleep

Hours: 32 hours/week Contract: Temporary assignment
Pay Range: $40 - $46.21/hour
Job Summary: We are seeking a Technical Designer to support the Casual Sleep team. This role is responsible for executing the technical design process from product development through final fit, ensuring garments meet established fit, comfort, quality, manufacturer, and cost standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong pattern-making background, experience working with knits and wovens, and hands-on technical design and fitting experience. Experience with Centric PLM is highly preferred.
Responsibilities: Own the technical design process from development through final fit. Conduct garment fittings and evaluate fit, comfort, construction, and quality. Develop and maintain technical specifications and fit standards. Write detailed fit comments and communicate pattern corrections. Work closely with Design to ensure design intent is achieved. Communicate fit requirements, corrections, and approvals to vendors and factories. Partner with factories to make appropriate garment adjustments. Monitor product quality and targeted costs. Attend meetings and communicate relevant takeaways and follow-ups. Participate in fittings approximately 1–2 times per week, with in-office attendance strongly preferred.
Qualifications: Strong technical design background throughout the majority of your career. Strong pattern-making experience. Experience working with both knits and wovens. Experience conducting fittings independently. Ability to write fit comments and identify pattern corrections. Experience with Centric PLM strongly preferred. Experience with plus-size apparel preferred. Experience in casual sleep/apparel is a strong plus. Bachelor's degree in Fashion or equivalent experience. Work Environment: This is a 100% onsite position in Manhattan. The role requires in-office attendance for fittings and collaboration with the Technical Design and Design teams.
