Apply for this role →School Bus Driver School Bus Drivers are responsible for transporting students safely to and from school and provides assistance as requested by the transportation office. Drives bus carefully and in compliance with traffic regulations. Reports to Director of Transportation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transports students safely to and from school. Assume responsibility for the safety of school children in loading, unloading and transporting them to and from school Signals children when to cross street or highway and assures that children are safely across upon departure from bus Maintains discipline; reports unruly behavior to principal of school or to supervisor Maintains CDL License to be able to operate a school bus Supervises pupil respect of others on bus Inspects interior bus at end of each run Maintains cleanliness of bus interior Pre-trip and post-trip inspection of bus each day Report delays and accidents Accepts other duties from the transportation manager Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee Education/
Experience Requirements:
Ability to operate a bus in a safe and economical manner Maintains CDL License to be able to operate a school bus As required by law, must pass medical examination annually and maintain "S" & "P" endorsements Clean driving records Cognitive/Communication Abilities: Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to perform work requiring good physical condition Relaxed and calm demeanor Ability to relate to students, parents and school system personnel Ability to complete various forms and records including; route sheets, time sheets, field trip forms, incident and accident reports, etc. Maintain pleasant rapport with students and parents. Must be able to accept changes and be flexible in routine.
