Q Microwave, a leader in the precision RF manufacturing, design and manufacture of cutting-edge military and defense microwave solutions, is seeking an Senior HR Generalist to join our entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast-paced team located in El Cajon, CA. Q Microwave is recognized for its advanced capabilities in RF filtering and custom RF subassemblies—technologies that require deep technical knowledge and a passion for precision. Our fully vertically integrated facility in San Diego enables close collaboration between design and manufacturing, ensuring unmatched quality and performance in RF product development. As a part of Amphenol’s global network of over 130 business units, Q Microwave operates with the technical focus and agility of a specialized design center while leveraging the strength, stability, and resources of one of the world’s largest interconnect solution providers The Senior HR Generalist will support a broad range of HR initiatives, including recruiting, team member development, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and workers' compensation. This role will serve as a trusted resource to team members and leaders while contributing to a positive and engaging workplace culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruits, screens, and onboards qualified candidates and new hires to support organizational staffing needs. Supports payroll and timekeeping processes for the Q Microwave. Provides coaching and guidance to managers and supervisors on team member relations, performance management, and HR best practices. Collaborates with the Corporate Human Resources team to develop, update, and implement HR policies, procedures, and initiatives. Facilitates the annual performance review process, including scheduling, communications, and merit planning for Q Microwave. Plans and coordinates company events and employee engagement activities at the Q Microwave. Maintains the HRIS database, ensuring accurate team member information and providing reports as needed. Administers the employee discipline process and attendance program for the Q Microwave. Coordinates benefits enrollment activities and provides day-to-day benefits administration support. Administers workers' compensation and FMLA programs, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements. Support internal and external audit for the HR department. Supports training and development initiatives and completes special projects related to human resources as assigned. Qualifications/
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience Minimum of Five years of experience in a Human Resources role. Experience supporting HR functions in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. PHR or SPHR certification preferred. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with team members at all levels of the organization. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong computer skills. Experience with an HRIS system; Dayforce experience preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain Knowledge of export regulations including ITAR and EARPrevious work in a cleared facility or defense industry Understanding of physical and cyber-physical security controls Effective written and verbal communication driving collaboration and teamwork throughout the organization
Working Conditions:
Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. of test equipment with assistance. Fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with supervisors. Comfortable working on your feet in a production environment.
