Job Description: Avid Systems is seeking a highly experienced Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Solutions Architect to support a large-scale government technology modernization initiative in Washington, DC.This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role requiring deep expertise across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure, enterprise architecture, system integration, security, DevOps, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities. The selected candidate will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for defining solution architecture, establishing development and security standards, designing integrations, guiding technical delivery, troubleshooting complex platform issues, and providing technical leadership across the solution lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the architecture, design, and technical direction of enterprise Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions. Design enterprise-scale solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Azure. Define logical and physical data models, Dataverse tables and relationships, solution segmentation, environment strategy, and integration architecture. Develop and configure model-driven applications, plug-ins, custom APIs, PCF controls, JavaScript/TypeScript extensions, Power Fx, and related Power Platform components. Establish and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, naming conventions, development standards, and technical governance. Lead architecture reviews for significant solution changes before implementation. Design, document, and manage integrations between Dynamics 365/Power Platform and external systems. Define secure cross-cloud and cross-tenant integration patterns. Design Azure architecture supporting application integration, identity, data, networking, security, and platform services. Implement identity and security patterns using Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, service principals, Key Vault, private networking, and API gateways. Design and maintain secure Power Pages architectures and external-user access models. Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD and application lifecycle management processes. Support automated build, deployment, testing, and release-management pipelines. Troubleshoot complex platform, integration, API, performance, security, and service-protection issues. Support platform release planning and evaluate the impact of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform updates. Design and maintain enterprise data architectures and integrations with external government systems. Establish automated data quality, validation, reconciliation, and duplicate-management controls. Lead technical evaluations and proofs of concept for new Microsoft, Azure, Power Platform, and AI capabilities. Provide technical recommendations regarding adoption, pilot programs, or continued evaluation of emerging technologies. Provide architecture briefings, technical recommendations, and decision support to executive and non-technical leadership. Mentor developers, architects, and technical staff while supporting knowledge transfer and internal capability development. Maintain architecture documentation, decision records, technical standards, and governance artifacts.
Artificial Intelligence Responsibilities: Serve as a technical lead for artificial intelligence capabilities integrated with enterprise applications. Design and implement solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and related Microsoft AI technologies. Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and agentic AI workflows. Implement tool calling, orchestration, multi-agent patterns, structured output, grounding, and human-in-the-loop processes. Establish AI evaluation methodologies, including automated evaluations, groundedness and hallucination testing, regression testing, latency benchmarking, and controlled deployment. Manage model lifecycle considerations, including model releases, upgrades, deprecations, testing, and migration planning. Implement secure AI architecture including prompt-injection protections, tool permissions, data filtering, and auditability.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a closely related technical discipline.20+ years of progressive information technology experience.16+ years of solution or enterprise architecture experience.8+ years designing enterprise-scale, mission-critical solutions.7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Dataverse, and Power Platform.5+ years serving as a lead or principal architect on full Dynamics 365 implementation lifecycles.4+ years of Microsoft Azure architecture and hands-on implementation experience.2+ years of production experience developing Generative AI and/or agentic AI solutions. Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or Microsoft Copilot technologies. Experience designing RAG solutions, AI grounding, tool calling, agent orchestration, and AI evaluation methodologies. Strong experience developing Dynamics 365 extensions including C#/.NET plug-ins, custom APIs, PCF controls, JavaScript/TypeScript, and related technologies. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform application lifecycle management, solution layering, and Azure DevOps CI/CD.Experience designing and operating mission-critical production systems through Microsoft platform release cycles. Strong knowledge of enterprise application security, identity management, secure integration patterns, and cloud architecture. Experience designing systems operating in regulated or security-sensitive environments. Experience with government cloud environments such as GCC, GCC High, or Azure Government. Experience with cross-cloud or cross-tenant architecture. Strong technical leadership and communication skills. Demonstrated experience briefing executive and non-technical leadership.
