Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering and design efforts for complex industrial facilities, including semiconductor cleanrooms, laboratories, mission-critical facilities, and other advanced manufacturing environments. This position will provide technical leadership throughout the design and construction lifecycle, including overseeing designers, performing quality reviews, developing construction documents, and coordinating directly with clients, owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of building electrical systems design experience, strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and an active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee electrical engineering and design activities for complex industrial and commercial facilities. Design facility electrical systems including power distribution, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communication systems. Perform and review engineering calculations, including voltage drop, arc flash, short-circuit, load flow, and other electrical system studies. Provide technical leadership and guidance to electrical designers and other engineering team members. Review electrical design packages for technical accuracy, code compliance, constructability, and overall quality. Prepare technical specifications, bid documents, and construction documents. Serve as the Electrical Discipline Lead and/or Quality Control reviewer on assigned projects. Develop electrical equipment specifications and review vendor equipment submittals. Coordinate electrical designs with other engineering disciplines, owners, contractors, and project stakeholders. Work directly with clients to understand technical requirements and develop practical engineering solutions. Support construction activities and provide field coordination throughout project delivery. Perform site visits and punch walks to identify and document outstanding construction items. Resolve electrical design and construction issues in collaboration with project teams and contractors. Participate in project proposals and support development of technical solutions for client needs. Maintain compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and project requirements.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering from an accredited university. Current Professional Engineer (PE) license, with the ability to obtain PE licensure in the State of Idaho. Minimum of 12 years of experience designing building electrical systems. Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70).Experience performing and/or reviewing voltage drop, arc flash, short-circuit, and load flow calculations. Experience developing electrical equipment specifications. Experience reviewing vendor submittals and coordinating with equipment vendors. Experience supporting electrical construction activities and field coordination. Ability to perform site punch walks and work effectively within active construction environments. Strong technical leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, designers, engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing electrical systems for semiconductor facilities, cleanrooms, laboratories, data centers, or other mission-critical environments. Semiconductor and/or data center design experience. Experience leading electrical design teams or supervising designers. Experience serving as an Electrical Discipline Lead or Quality Control reviewer. Working knowledge of Revit and/or BIM software. Experience working directly with owners and contractors throughout design and construction. Ability to manage multiple technical priorities within a fast-paced project environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality engineering deliverables.
