Business Development Representative - Utilities & Energy Tech Fully Remote | Full-Time | East Coast / Central / Mountain (US)
The Company: Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed Space Tech company applying AI to satellite and earth observation data. Their SaaS platform helps infrastructure operators monitor and manage risk from vegetation encroachment, ground deformation, and other threats to critical assets. With an international team spread across 30+ nationalities and a mission to monitor a billion assets globally by 2030, they're scaling fast in North America and looking for a BDR to help lead the charge.
The Role: This is an outbound-focused Business Development Representative role at the heart of our client's North American growth engine. You'll identify, prospect, and qualify leads within large, complex organizations (think utilities, energy, and oil & gas) before handing off high-value opportunities to the Account Executive team. This role has been specifically recalibrated to prioritize industry experience over general SaaS sales background. If you've spent time prospecting into utilities, energy, oil & gas, or another highly regulated, bureaucratic, multi-layered industry (water, solar, and public sector/government backgrounds are also of interest), this is your opportunity to bring that hard-won knowledge to a category-defining company.
What You'll Do: Prospect strategically into large, complex accounts - mapping out multi-layered organizational structures using tools like Linked In Sales Navigator and AI-driven intent data. Run omnichannel outreach via email, phone, and social to open conversations and generate interest. Qualify leads by uncovering real business pain points, not just booking calls for the sake of it. Partner closely with Account Executives to build territory plans and hand off well-qualified, high-value pipeline. Represent the company at industry conferences and trade shows (20% travel).Keep the CRM (Hub Spot) clean and current, using data to sharpen your outreach over time. Own your number - meet or exceed quota for meetings set and qualified pipeline created.
What We're Looking For: 1–2 years of BDR/SDR experience, with demonstrated success prospecting into utilities, energy, oil & gas, or an adjacent highly regulated, complex vertical (water, solar, and public sector are also welcome).Comfort with the "cold start" - you see a "no" as a request for more information, not a stop sign. Strong written and verbal communication - equally sharp on a cold call, in a short email, or face-to-face at a trade show. Familiarity with a modern sales stack (Hub Spot, Sales Navigator, sequencing tools) and interest in using AI to work smarter. A genuine interest in growing your career in SaaS sales, with the drive to build a strong foundation early on. Location This is a remote role. We're prioritizing candidates based in the East Coast, Central, or Mountain time zones (Pacific/West Coast candidates will not be considered for this particular opening).
Compensation & Benefits: Base salary Variable/commission Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k)Generous PTO and sick leave Flexible, hybrid-friendly working culture Equity participation (VESOP)Regular company off-sites bringing the global team together in person Interested candidates should apply directly or reach out to learn more about this confidential search.
