Apply for this role (opens in a new tab)About Pockyt
Pockyt is building the AI-native infrastructure for global money movement. We give merchants a single platform to accept payments from anywhere, send money globally, and manage funds through Global Virtual Accounts and stablecoins — but our ambition runs deeper than the rails themselves. We're architecting the connective tissue that lets money move across borders the way information moves across the internet: instantly, intelligently, and autonomously.
We serve a wide spectrum of merchants, from sophisticated enterprise platforms running complex multi-currency operations to the next generation of AI-powered startups, including the one-person unicorns we believe are about to reshape the global economy. Today, that means one integration, one account view, and one place to track everything. Tomorrow, it means a financial layer that AI agents can natively transact on — where money flows are orchestrated, optimized, and reconciled without human bottlenecks.
Our mission is to make global commerce frictionless. We're not building another payments platform. We're building the operating system for how value moves in an agentic, borderless economy.
The Role:
We're hiring a VP, Head of Sales to own how Pockyt turns market opportunity into predictable, high-quality revenue. This is a senior executive role reporting directly to the CEO, and it exists to build the commercial engine behind Pockyt's next stage of growth: a sales organization with clear targets, disciplined pipeline management, and accountability for results.
You’ll own the sales strategy, the revenue number, and the team that delivers it. You’ll lead two Director-level sales leaders from day one, and you’ll be responsible for designing and building the future state of the team: the structure, the hires, and the operating model. You’ll set quotas and KPIs, run the forecast, coach your leaders, and personally lead the highest-value deals with enterprise merchants, platforms, and payment partners. You’ll take part in executive planning and help leadership decide where to focus as the business scales.
This is a builder’s role. You’ll inherit a team and a pipeline, not a finished playbook. We want someone who has built a sales function before: the process, the reporting, the comp plans, and the culture. If you understand how payments revenue really works, from signed contract to activated merchant to realized processing volume, and you want to build the function that scales it, this is it.
What You’ll Do:
Own the revenue number — set and deliver sales targets aligned with company growth objectives, with clear accountability for new business, pipeline creation, and team performance
Lead your leaders — manage and develop two Director-level sales leaders, holding them and their work accountable through clear expectations, quotas, quarterly scorecards, and regular pipeline and performance reviews
Build the future team — design the target structure of the sales organization, define the roles it needs, and recruit, onboard, and develop the sellers who will scale it
Build the sales engine — define the sales methodology, qualification standards, playbooks, and deal process that make results repeatable rather than dependent on individual heroics
Run the forecast — own pipeline visibility, CRM hygiene, and forecast accuracy, and maintain the commercial forecast and reconcile it with Finance's actuals
Close what matters — personally lead complex enterprise negotiations and strategically important deals with merchants, platforms, and payment partners
Sell for quality, not just signatures — track how deals turn into merchant activation, transaction volume, and realized revenue, and steer the team toward deals with strong economics
Partner across the company:
Finance — revenue projections, capacity planning, deal economics, and commission plan design
Payment Operations & Product — set sales commitments that match what we can configure, launch, and support, and feed customer insight into the roadmap
Compliance & Risk — work with them on onboarding requirements and regulated-product constraints from the start of the sales cycle
Marketing — align on ideal customer profile, event and campaign planning, lead qualification standards, and the handoff from marketing-sourced lead to sales opportunity
Customer Success — transition accounts to Customer Success at a defined post-launch milestone, and partner on cross-sell of new products into existing clients
Shape go-to-market strategy — identify priority segments, corridors, and partnerships; inform pricing and competitive positioning; and support launches of new products and markets
Represent Pockyt externally — serve as a senior commercial voice with key merchants, partners, and industry stakeholders
What We’re Looking For:
10+ years of B2B sales experience, including 5+ years leading sales teams, with significant time in payments, merchant acquiring, or payments infrastructure
Experience managing managers: you’ve led sales leaders, not only individual sellers
Strong fluency in the payments ecosystem: payment processing, merchant acquiring, cross-border payments, alternative payment methods, and PSP/partner models
A track record of revenue you can quantify personally: quota attainment, team revenue growth, and forecast accuracy, not just company growth that happened while you were there
Demonstrated experience building a sales function, including process, team structure, KPIs, compensation plans, and performance management, not only running an established one
Experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles and negotiating commercial agreements with senior decision-makers
Strong commercial and financial acumen: you understand transaction economics, pricing, take rate, and what makes a deal profitable
A hands‑on executive: you can set strategy in the morning and work a deal with a seller in the afternoon
Excellent communication skills; you’ll present regularly to the executive team and be the face of Pockyt with major merchants and partners
Bonus Points:
Sales leadership at a growth‑stage fintech, PSP, PayFac, or acquirer
Existing relationships with enterprise merchants, platforms, payment partners, or financial institutions
Experience selling cross‑border payments, digital wallets, Virtual Accounts, or stablecoin‑enabled products, especially into APAC or LATAM
Experience selling regulated financial products alongside Compliance and Risk teams
Comfort with modern CRM and revenue reporting tools (we run Twenty)
Enthusiasm for AI‑assisted sales workflows and tooling
How You’ll Work
Rhythm: Weekly pipeline and forecast reviews → monthly revenue reporting to the executive team → quarterly scorecards, targets, and planning
Collaboration: Executive planning with the CEO and leadership team; weekly 1:1s and pipeline reviews with your Directors; regular partnership with Finance, Payment Operations, Product, Compliance, Marketing, and Customer Success
Quality bar: Every seller has clear targets and a scorecard; every forecast is defensible; every deal is qualified on economics, not just on whether it will close
Function building: Start by assessing the team and pipeline, establish the operating standards, then design and hire the organization that scales behind them
Success looks like:
within 90 days, a commercial forecast reconciled to Finance actuals and a scorecard for every seller; within 6 months, a documented sales process the team runs, a defined target org structure, and a hiring plan underway; consistent attainment of revenue targets; and a sales organization ready to scale with Pockyt's growth.
