Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused 1st Class Crane Operator to support operations in a shipyard environment in Pascagoula, MS. This role requires hands-on experience operating multiple types of cranes and lifting equipment, along with a strong commitment to safety and precision. Candidates must be able to pass an in-person written assessment and work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor setting. Must-Haves: Minimum of 3 years of experience operating: Hydraulic cranes Friction cranes Dockside cranes Forklifts Cherry pickers Experience working in shipyard environments Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent) Ability to read and interpret load charts and follow proper rigging practices Ability to pass an in-person written test Strong understanding of OSHA and jobsite safety standards Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Preferred:
Additional equipment certifications Experience working in high-volume or fast-paced shipyard operations Strong communication skills with riggers and signal personnel Experience performing routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance AI Screening Questions: How many years of experience do you have operating hydraulic, friction, and dockside cranes? Please describe your experience. Do you have current NCCCO (or equivalent) crane operator certification? If yes, please provide details. Describe your experience working in a shipyard environment. What types of projects have you supported? Are you comfortable reading and interpreting load charts and performing lifts according to safety standards?
