Shipping Clerk
Shipping Clerk The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate shipping of finished architectural interior signage products. This position is also responsible for inventory management, receiving materials and claims and assistance with general production tasks as needed. The Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring products are delivered on time and in good condition.
Key Duties
And Responsibilities:
Shipping Prepare and pack finished products for shipment according to customer specifications. Coordinate with couriers and freight companies to schedule pick-ups and deliveries. Ensure all shipping documentation (such as packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels) is accurate and complete. Produce accurate shipping quotes on request. Inspect finished products for quality and packaging before shipment. Maintain a clean and organized shipping area. Frequent delivery and pickups of materials as needed. Receiving Unload incoming shipments of materials and supplies, checking against purchase orders for accuracy. Inspect received goods for damage or defects, documenting and reporting discrepancies. Maintain proper storage of materials in the warehouse. Update inventory records to reflect the receipt of new items. Claims Assist in identifying and filing claims for damaged or lost items during shipping or receiving. Communicate with vendors and freight carriers to resolve shipping issues or discrepancies. Document and follow up on claim statuses to ensure timely resolutions. Maintaining Inventory Perform regular stock counts and assist with inventory audits. Assist in organizing and maintaining warehouse inventory for easy access. Report low stock levels or inventory discrepancies to the Purchasing Department. Keep accurate records of all shipments, receipts, and inventory levels. General Production Tasks as Needed Assist with production tasks, such as labeling, assembling, or packaging signage, as required by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred, ideally in a manufacturing or signage-related environment. Basic knowledge of shipping methods, procedures, and best practices. Experience with inventory management or warehouse management is a plus. Forklift experience is required. Valid, clean driving record and license required
