DVF is looking for a PD & Production Assistant to join our Product Development team on a temporary, part-time basis (3 to 4 days per week). This is a hands-on operational role for an organized, detail-driven early-career professional who can keep samples, data, and production timelines moving accurately between our New York office and overseas vendors. Role details Hourly, 3-month fixed term with possibility of renewal 3 to 4 days per week (8-hour days), in office
Rate: $25 to $30/hr
Key responsibilities:
Support the day-to-day product development and production workflow by maintaining organized tracking for samples, data, and bulk information Maintain a system to accurately track samples from product development through production with overseas vendors; receive, log, organize, and distribute incoming and outgoing samples, fabric swatches, and trim materials Prepare, document, and manage outgoing packages to international partners and vendors, including packing, courier coordination, packing lists, and delivery tracking Set up production milestone tracking charts, enter vendor updates including bulk status and shipment ETAs, and proactively flag discrepancies, missing details, or timeline risks to management Communicate with overseas vendors daily regarding sample and bulk status, shipments, timing, and follow-up actions Assist with production trim management, including care labels, UPC stickers, hangtags, and other label requirements Assist in setting up accurate production information in the ERP and related systems Keep the sample archive, storage areas, and tracking logs fully updated and tidy, filing all samples, fabric swatches, and other materials properly Request and document all compliance information and test reports from vendors and labs
Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Apparel Production, or a related field Internship or up to 1 to 2 years of experience in product development, production, or sourcing preferred; prior experience working with overseas vendors and factories is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills (basic formulas, spreadsheet management) highly valued Extremely organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple timelines simultaneously Proactive, resourceful, and collaborative team player with a high sense of urgency, strong follow-through, and a drive to take ownership of assigned work
