Deliver appliances to customers' homes and businesses. Carefully move appliances through doorways, hallways, stairs, and other areas without damaging the appliance or property. Inspect appliances for visible damage before delivery and report any concerns immediately. Obtain required customer signatures and delivery documentation. Remove old appliances when included in the customer's purchase or delivery agreement. Appliance Installation Install and connect appliances according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Install common household appliances, including refrigerators, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, dishwashers, washers, and dryers. Connect water, drain, electrical, gas, and vent connections when applicable and when properly qualified and permitted. Level and properly position appliances. Test appliances after installation to ensure proper operation. Identify installation conditions that are unsafe, outside company policy, or beyond the technician's qualifications and notify management before proceeding. Customer Service Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful attitude while in the customer's home. Explain basic appliance operation and care to customers when appropriate. Answer basic installation and operation questions or direct customers to the appropriate department when necessary. Protect customers' floors, walls, cabinets, and other property during delivery and installation. Clean the work area and remove delivery-related packaging and debris as required. Address customer concerns professionally and notify management of any unresolved issue. Safety & Responsibility Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Use proper lifting and moving techniques. Follow manufacturer installation instructions. Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly. Maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Immediately report accidents, property damage, appliance damage, injuries, or other incidents to management. Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company procedures regarding appliance installation and transportation. Protect company property, customer property, and merchandise from damage.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous appliance delivery, installation, construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related experience is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand and power tools. Ability to read and follow manufacturer installation instructions. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and maneuver heavy appliances. Ability to work on your feet for extended periods. Ability to work in tight spaces and navigate stairs when necessary. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, and maneuvering large appliances. The employee must be capable of safely handling heavy appliances with the assistance of another employee or appropriate equipment when required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a variety of environments, including the company warehouse, delivery vehicles, customer homes, garages, construction sites, and outdoor areas. The position may involve exposure to heat, cold, dust, confined spaces, stairs, uneven surfaces, and other conditions commonly encountered during appliance delivery and installation. The goal of this position is to ensure that every appliance is delivered safely, installed properly, and leaves the customer with a positive experience.
