Chief Growth Officer Chicago | Relocation support available | Competitive base, bonus and equityI’m leading a confidential search for a Chief Growth Officer to work closely with the CEO of an established consumer business. This is a substantial leadership role for someone who has built their career in performance marketing and knows how to turn acquisition, creative, conversion and retention into profitable growth. You’ll lead an experienced team, take ownership of a significant marketing budget and help shape the next stage of the business. There’s real backing for growth and room to make decisions, move quickly and put new ideas into practice. The remit Own performance across paid social and paid search, with particular depth in Meta, Google and TikTok. Build a strong testing rhythm across creative, audiences, channels and conversion. Use customer economics and incremental results to guide investment. Connect acquisition with CRM, retention, SEO and influencer activity. Lead through strong managers, develop talent and make clear decisions about priorities and performance. Partner closely with the CEO and wider leadership team on the commercial direction of the business. Who I’d like to speak with You might already be a CGO or CMO, or a strong VP of Growth or Marketing ready for a broader remit. You’ll have managed substantial acquisition budgets, delivered measurable growth in the US market and led teams across multiple disciplines. You should be comfortable getting into the detail, challenging assumptions and explaining what you would change—and why. Consumer ecommerce experience would be valuable. I’m also open to exceptional leaders from consumer subscription or app businesses, and agency executives who can demonstrate the experience and appetite to take full ownership inside a business. Location and package The role is based in Chicago, with regular international travel. Candidates elsewhere in the US who are willing to relocate are very welcome, and relocation support is available.
