As a school-based Special Education Teacher in Wauconda, Illinois, your days will iInclude: Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a self-contained autism program for students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional needs. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs. Implement structured routines, positive behavior supports, and accommodations that promote student engagement and independence. Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, school staff, and families to support student success. Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings. Job Details Position: Full-time contract in a school setting Dates: ASAP through June
Hours: 32.5 hours per week Classroom: Self-contained autism program
Grade Level:
Kindergarten–fourth grade Setting: Onsite Successful Candidates Possess An active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement (required)Experience supporting students with autism (strongly preferred)Strong skills in individualized instruction, classroom management, and collaboration The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
