The Job Our goal is to give every guest a great experience through fun, real connections, and the best BBQ around. In the kitchen, that means doing it right every time.
What You'll Do:
- Work off the prep list
- Prep and cook food to Sonny's recipes, production guidelines, and portion standards
- Use the scale to hit correct portion weights
- Learn and use Sonny's kitchen terms, plating, menu items, and procedures
- Keep portions and waste under control
- Handle knives and kitchen tools safely
- Store, label, date, cool, and rotate food per food safety standards
- Keep your station, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized
- Check product levels and restock as needed
- Clean during and at the end of your shift
- Help out wherever needed
What We're Looking For:
- Works well alone or with a team
- Can handle several things at once and stay calm when it gets busy
- Manages time well
- Dependable, with a flexible schedule
- Completes required company, state, and federal training and certifications
- Restaurant experience or training preferred
- Gets along well with people
- Basic reading, writing, and math
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- (so you know what you're getting into)
- Stand and walk for most of an up-to-8-hour shift
- Regularly push, pull, lift, and carry up to 90 lbs
- Constant bending, reaching, crouching, and handling food and equipment
- Work in wet and humid conditions, around cleaning chemicals and moving equipment parts
- Frequent handwashing required
- Fast-paced, hands-on, team environment with constant communication
