Vice President of Tax & Treasury

Overview: Confidential Search: VP, Tax & Treasury (Head of Tax) Minneapolis Area Four Pillars Talent has been retained on a confidential executive search for a privately held organization seeking a senior tax and treasury leader. This is a highly strategic role supporting a successful private enterprise, related ownership entities, and broader business interests. The right person will bring deep tax planning expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to look across corporate, partnership, individual, estate, investment, and treasury matters in a holistic way. This person will serve as a trusted advisor on tax strategy, business and personal tax planning, Federal, State and Local tax compliance, cash management, monitoring treasury (bank debt covenants), outside advisor coordination, and long-term financial decision support. Ideal backgroundMST, MBT, JD, LLM, tax attorney or CTP preferred 15+ years of progressive tax experience Public accounting foundation preferred, ideally Big 4, national firm, private client services, family office, or closely held business tax advisory Strong experience with high-net-worth individuals, private businesses, partnerships, trusts, estate planning, tax planning, and complex ownership structures Ability to partner directly with ownership, executives, attorneys, wealth advisors, banks, and external tax providers High integrity, discretion, emotional intelligence, and executive presence Both corporate (privately held) and personal tax compliance and related tax planning would hold a higher priority over treasury for this role but if someone had all then that would be icing on the cake! Compensation Base salary range: $300,000 to $400,000 Target bonus: 30% to 50% Target total cash compensation: approximately $400,000 to $560,000, depending on experience and fit Benefits include executive-level health, retirement, paid time off, and bonus eligibility, with details shared during the process.
