VP Credit Risk

Responsibilities: Lead the review and enhancement of credit risk policies to ensure they align with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and prudent lending practices. Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on credit exposure, portfolio trends, and emerging risk concerns across lending activities. Evaluate existing credit risk controls and recommend improvements that reinforce governance, accountability, and consistent decision-making. Partner with compliance and operational teams to support due diligence efforts and strengthen alignment between credit risk and AML-related considerations. Oversee the development and validation of credit risk methodologies and models used to assess portfolio performance and potential loss exposure. Prepare clear risk insights, reporting materials, and recommendations for executive leadership and relevant oversight committees. Engage with financial services regulators and assist in responding to reviews, inquiries, and examination-related requests. Contribute to broader risk management strategies by identifying vulnerabilities, monitoring key indicators, and promoting effective mitigation plans.
